Karen Townsend is a practitioner of Shiatsu, Therapeutic Massage, and Thai Yoga Bodywork. She has over 10 years of and thousands of hours of experience working with clients to help them meet their health goals and improve their quality of life. She blends her experience and knowledge of multiple modalities to create a truly personalized session for her clients. She currently carries and maintains national certification in both Therapeutic Massage (NCBTMB) and Asian Bodywork Therapy (NCCAOM).

Yoga, Qi Gong, mindfulness practice, weight training and exercise have also been a great influence on the style of her work. She is always expanding and fine tuning her knowledge of bodywork. She is dedicated to promoting health, happiness, and accessible and effective healthcare to her clients and the community.


It is my belief that bodywork deepens the communication between body and mind and opens us up to signals about our health that we may be too busy to hear otherwise. I use my training to help people take steps towards less pain and more joy in life. On a greater level, I see that awareness and respect for one’s body cultivates awareness and respect for each other and the planet that sustains us.

It is my goal to provide professional, high quality and affordable bodywork to the community in a safe, comfortable and relaxing setting, which encourages clients to develop a deeper connection with themselves and their own health.

I use the training and experience I have to promote improved health, pain and stress relief, injury repair, positive body image, and awareness of one’s body. This awareness is one of the most important components of preventative healthcare. I offer support and ideas for self-care and refer to different health care practitioners when something is beyond my training or abilities to help.
